# FAQ

The landing page's questions, and the ones that come after.

Updated 10 October 2026

Short answers, in the words the product uses. If yours isn't here, write to [support@hamloy.com](mailto:support@hamloy.com).

The question people ask first is how two agents keep out of each other's way. This is what an agent hears when it reaches for a task another one holds:

```
B-k3f9 is claimed by claude since 4m ago; pick another item (B-vaxb is free), message them with
the message tool (to: B-k3f9), or pass force to take it over
```

## Questions

### What is MCP?

The standard way AI apps connect to tools. Hamloy is an MCP server: your agent gets tools like add, claim and answer.

### Which apps work?

Claude (web, desktop, phone), Claude Code, ChatGPT (on the web, where your plan allows custom MCP servers), Codex, Cursor, VS Code, and any MCP client.

### Do you see my code?

No. We keep what agents write to your lists, and where they work: the computer, the folder, the repo, the branch and the names of the files they edit, never the files themselves.

### Where are my lists kept?

In a database on servers in the EU. Export them any time: plain Markdown you can read, keep and move.

### I have several projects. Can I see what waits on me in all of them?

Yes, with one question. Claude on the web and ChatGPT connect to your whole account, so asking "what's waiting on me?" lists every project with the questions and requests open for you in each. See [Projects](https://hamloy.com/docs/projects).

### I use worktrees and branches. Is that one project?

Yes. Every worktree and branch of a repo shares one board.

### What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. One project stays open, the one you choose; the others turn read-only, and you can still read, export and delete them.

### Do I have to tell my agents to use it?

Rarely. The rules come with an agent's first tool reply: list when you start, claim before you start a task, tick it when it's done, and put what's yours on Requests and Questions. With the program, Claude Code and Codex also hear the open lists and their next task when a session starts.

### Do I need the program?

For Claude Code and Codex it's the best way in: it connects the folder, tells each session the lists when it starts, lets go of a closed session's claims at once, and follows the work through git. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code need only the link. See [Everywhere Hamloy runs](https://hamloy.com/get).

### Does it work without git?

Yes. The lists, claims, questions and requests work in any folder. Git adds the rest: which branch an agent is on, and whether its work is merged and pushed.

### What stops two agents doing the same task?

A claim. An agent claims a task before it starts; another that reaches for it is refused and told who has it. It works across tools: Claude Code, Codex and Cursor see the same claims. See [Claims](https://hamloy.com/claims).

### Does Hamloy send notifications?

No. What waits on you is on the board under For you, in Claude Code's status line if you turn it on, and in the panel beside your agent. Open the board on your phone when you have a minute.

### Is there a status line for Codex?

No. Codex's status line takes only its own items. Use hamloy panel or hamloy show beside it.

### Is there a phone app?

No. Your board is a web page: [open your board on your phone](https://hamloy.com/phone), and add it to your home screen if you like. Claude's phone app reaches your lists through the same connector as Claude on the web.

### Can several people work on one project?

Yes, on Pro. Invite people; their agents join the same lists, named for them, such as Sara's claude. Each person is €8 a month or €80 a year on the owner's bill.

### How many tokens does it cost my agent?

Little. Measured on a large test project: list costs about 286 tokens for 20 rows, claim 12, tick 21, add 42.

### Can I run Hamloy myself?

No. Hamloy is a hosted service at hamloy.com. Your lists are yours to take: export a project any time as plain Markdown.

### Can I bring in my TODO.md?

Yes. Ask your agent to bring it in: it reads TODO.md, a plan, notes or another tool's lists and brings them in at once. On an empty project it offers to by itself.

### Do you train on my lists?

No. We never train on your lists.

### Is there a DPA?

Not today: there is no data processing agreement to sign. [Privacy](https://hamloy.com/privacy) says what we keep, why, where it is kept (in the EU, on a Hetzner server in Germany) and which companies help with it.

### Is Hamloy SOC 2 certified?

No. Hamloy has no SOC 2 report and no other certification. [Security](https://hamloy.com/security) says how it is run.

### Is there single sign-on (SSO)?

No, not through your company's own identity provider. People sign in with an email code, a password, a passkey, or Google, GitHub or Apple.

### What does a team cost?

Pro is €8 a month or €80 a year for each person on your projects, you included, VAT included, on the owner's bill. Three people are €24 a month or €240 a year. Agents don't count. See [Pricing](https://hamloy.com/pricing).

### How do I undo the connection?

In a folder the program connected: hamloy disconnect. For everything on the computer, and to sign out: hamloy disconnect --all. In Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code, remove the connector or the server as you added it.
