Hamloy for ChatGPT

Think the work through in ChatGPT. The plan goes onto a list your coding agents start from, and you answer their questions on one board, from any machine or your phone.

ChatGPT is where a lot of projects start: a long conversation about what to build, in what order, and what's still undecided. Then the conversation ends, and the plan stays in it. The coding agent you open next has never heard of it.

With Hamloy connected, ChatGPT writes the plan into your project's lists while you talk. Tasks go on the backlog, with subtasks and what waits on what. Decisions that are yours go on Questions, with the options and the one ChatGPT recommends. What only you can do, an account, a key, a payment, goes on Requests with the steps. Your coding agents start from that list, and you see it on one board.

What it looks like in ChatGPT

Here is a request ChatGPT added: the call, and Hamloy's reply word for word.

add({"kind": "request", "title": "Make an APNs key for push reminders",
"summary": "Push reminders need it, and only you can make one",
     "body": ["In developer.apple.com › Certificates, IDs & Profiles › Keys, press +",
"Name it Pebble push and tick Apple Push Notifications service",
"Download the .p8 file and put its path in .env as APNS_KEY_PATH, its id as APNS_KEY_ID"]})
R-p4nk@1 Make an APNs key for push reminders
Push reminders need it, and only you can make one

On the board, the request shows the steps and what it frees:

⏺ hamloy - Add an item (MCP)(kind: "request", title: "Make an APNs key for push reminders", body: […], needs: ["R-h2qe"])

⎿ R-p4nk@1 Make an APNs key for push reminders

⏺ Push reminders need an APNs key, and only you can make one. The steps are on your list. I'm going on with the settings screen meanwhile.

Make an APNs key for push reminders
Waits on you: Create the Apple Developer account and put the team id in .env as APPLE_TEAM_ID
  1. In developer.apple.com › Certificates, IDs & Profiles › Keys, press +
  2. Name it Pebble push and tick Apple Push Notifications service
  3. Download the .p8 file and put its path in .env as APNS_KEY_PATH, its id as APNS_KEY_ID

Doing this lets Push reminders at the time each habit is due go ahead.

Plan here, build elsewhere

The list ChatGPT writes is the same one every agent you connect works from. A Codex or Claude Code session in your repo starts by reading it, claims a task so no other session takes it, and ticks it when the work is committed. Hamloy follows that work through git, so "done" on the board means merged, not ticked on a branch nobody merged. See Hamloy for Codex and Hamloy for Claude Code.

Answer questions from anywhere

When a coding agent hits a decision that's yours, it asks with options and its recommendation, and goes on with what every answer needs. You don't have to be at its terminal:

Where should synced habits live?
Ccodex 3d ago
Supabase: Postgres with auth and row-level security built in recommended
Our own Postgres on Fly.io
iCloud only, no server
Or answer in your own words Why (optional) Answer

Answering this lets Offline sync with a local SQLite cache go ahead.

C codex · ~/pebble · feat/offline

• I asked you where synced habits should live (Q-sy2c). Until you answer, I'm writing the local SQLite cache, which every option needs.

Open your board on your phone or any computer and pick an option, or ask ChatGPT "what's waiting for me?" and tell it your answer. ChatGPT records what you said, never an answer of its own:

answer({"key": "Q-sy2c", "answer": "1"})
Q-sy2c@2 answered: Supabase
no longer waiting on it: B-se4t

Every agent waiting on that question hears the answer with its next tool reply. More in questions and on your phone.

What ChatGPT can do in Hamloy

All 13 tools: read the lists, add tasks, requests and questions, edit, move and tick them, record your answers, message the agent on a task, read the news, and make views of the board. ChatGPT keeps one connection for your account, so it reaches every project you're on and can start a new one. See the tools.

What it doesn't get is what the hamloy program adds on a computer: hooks, git, the panel and the status line. Those are for Claude Code and Codex.

Connect in a minute

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, press + and choose Add custom MCP server (all the steps).
  2. Call it Hamloy and give it https://hamloy.com/mcp.
  3. Leave the sign-in on OAuth, choose Create as a plugin, and sign in to Hamloy in the window that opens.

Then ask: "What's open in my project?"

Questions

Which ChatGPT plans can use Hamloy?

One that lets you add a custom MCP server; OpenAI's docs leave that to your account and workspace. If Plugins has no Add custom MCP server, your plan or workspace doesn't allow it. On a work plan, your workspace's own rules decide whether custom MCP servers are allowed, as OpenAI's developer docs say (checked on 10 October 2026).

Is Hamloy in ChatGPT's directory?

No. You add it yourself with one address and sign in. It takes a minute.

Can ChatGPT write code for the tasks too?

Hamloy doesn't care which agent does a task. Most people plan in ChatGPT and build in Codex, Claude Code or Cursor, which all see the same lists.
