Claude Desktop

Use Hamloy in the Claude desktop app through the same custom connector as claude.ai, not the local config file.

The Claude desktop app for Mac and Windows uses the connectors of your Claude account. If you already added Hamloy on claude.ai, it is there in the desktop app too, and on your phone. If not, add it from the desktop app; the steps are the same.

What you need

  • A Hamloy account. Create a free board if you have none.
  • The Claude desktop app, signed in to your Claude account. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the Free plan has room for one. On Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector first. (Checked against Anthropic's help center on 10 October 2026.)

Connect

  1. In the desktop app, open Customize › Connectors, choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Hamloy, and give it this address as the MCP server URL:
https://hamloy.com/mcp
  1. Choose Continue. Your browser opens on Hamloy and asks Let "Claude" in? Choose Allow.

That is all. No key, and nothing to install.

Not the config file

The desktop app also has a file of its own, claude_desktop_config.json. Anthropic's help center describes it as the place for local MCP servers, the ones that run on your computer. Hamloy is a remote server, so it goes in Connectors instead. Leave the file alone.

If you work in a terminal or an editor, Claude Code is a different app with its own setup, and it gets more from Hamloy: hooks that tell the board where each session works, a status line and the panel.

Check that it worked

Start a new chat and ask "What's open in Hamloy?" Claude calls the list tool:

  ## Sharing
  [ ] B-m2xq@1 Share a streak as an image
[ ] B-c8rt@1 Pick the image size (waits on Q-7hnc)
questions
  [ ] Q-7hnc@1 How should a shared streak look? options: 1) A square card (recommended) 2) A story-sized image

Here a task waits on a question. Answer the question on the board, or tell Claude your answer in the chat, and the task is ready for whichever agent takes it next.

Where should synced habits live?

Answering this lets Offline sync with a local SQLite cache go ahead.

• I asked you where synced habits should live (Q-sy2c). Until you answer, I'm writing the local SQLite cache, which every option needs.

The desktop app is a good place to plan. Talk the work through, ask Claude to write it into Hamloy, then let Claude Code or Codex build it from the same lists.

If it doesn't work

  • Hamloy's tools don't show up in a chat. Choose the + button at the lower left of the message box, then Connectors, and make sure Hamloy is on.
  • You added it to claude_desktop_config.json. Take it out and add it under Connectors as above.
  • The browser window says "This link doesn't work." Remove the connector and add it again, from the desktop app.
  • You want to see or cut the connection. Hamloy's Connect page lists Claude under Connected apps, with Disconnect.

The same connector, step by step for the web and the phone: Claude.
