Cline

Connect Cline to Hamloy as a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP, signed in with an API token in a header.

Updated 10 October 2026

Cline adds remote MCP servers from its MCP Servers panel or its settings file. Hamloy has not been tested in Cline; the steps below were checked against Cline's own docs on 10 October 2026.

Those docs describe a browser sign-in (OAuth) for remote servers only in the Cline CLI. For the extension in your editor they describe a token in a header, so that is the way this page gives.

What you need

  • A Hamloy account and a project. Create a free board if you have none.
  • Cline, in your editor or as the CLI.
  • An API token. On Hamloy's Connect page, under API tokens, give it a name such as "Cline on my laptop" and choose Make token. Copy it then: it isn't shown again.

Connect

In Cline, open the MCP Servers icon at the top of its panel, then the Configure tab, and choose Configure MCP Servers. This opens Cline's settings file. Add Hamloy under mcpServers, beside any servers already there:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hamloy": {
      "type": "streamableHttp",
      "url": "https://hamloy.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
      },
      "disabled": false,
      "autoApprove": []
    }
  }
}

Keep "type": "streamableHttp". Cline's docs say that without a type it uses the older SSE transport; Hamloy's address speaks Streamable HTTP.

https://hamloy.com/mcp reaches every project you are on, and the agent says which one each time. For one project only, use its own address from the Connect page.

This file lives outside your repo, so the token stays out of it. Never paste the token into a file the repo keeps, or into a list.

With the Cline CLI

Cline's CLI adds a remote server in one line:

cline mcp add hamloy https://hamloy.com/mcp --transport http --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" --yes

The CLI's MCP wizard also has an Authorize OAuth action, which runs the browser sign-in for a remote server. Hamloy supports that sign-in, so you can leave out the header and choose that action instead.

Check that it worked

Ask Cline "What's open in Hamloy?" It calls the list tool:

  ## Streaks
  [ ] B-k3f9@2 Streak counter on the habit card (claimed by claude on streak-counter in pebble)
  [ ] B-m2xq@1   Share a streak as an image
questions
  [ ] Q-7hnc@1   How should a shared streak look?  options: 1) A square card (recommended)  2) A story-sized image

Another agent holds B-k3f9, so Cline should take B-m2xq. Hamloy refuses a claim on a task someone else holds.

• Dark mode is done and ticked.

If it doesn't work

  • Cline says it can't connect. Check the type: it must be streamableHttp.
  • Hamloy refuses the token. It was revoked, or copied with a space. Make a new one on the Connect page and replace it.
  • Cline asks before every call. Add the tools you trust to autoApprove, such as "list" and "news".
  • You lost the token. It is shown only once. Revoke it on the Connect page and make another; anything still using the old one is refused from then on.
