The projects tool

On the account's address, the projects you are on, with what is open for you in each.

projects lists the projects you are on. Its title is Your projects, and its description, as the agent reads it:

List the projects you are on, with what is open for the human in each: the place to start for what waits on them. Each has its own lists, and every other tool takes one of them as project.

It is there only on the account's address, https://hamloy.com/mcp, the one Claude and ChatGPT use. On a project's own address the tools already know their project, so it isn't needed. See Remote link or API token.

It takes no arguments and only reads.

What it tells

  • Each project you are on, by name and id, and whether it is yours or shared with you.
  • How many questions and requests are open for you in each. When a project has five or fewer, they are named with their keys, so the agent can go straight to them.
  • Which projects are read-only for you, and why.
  • That every other tool takes one of them as project, by name or id. With one project, project can be left out.

Calls and replies

On one project, with a question and a request open for you:

You are on one project; 2 things open for the human:
- “Pebble” (yours), id e7f94dcb-e308-49d3-a1f4-5e46297dd96a; open for the human: 1 question, 1 request (Q-sbx6 “Which sign-in should Pebble have at launch?”; R-g4va “Make an APNs key for push reminders”)
In brackets: all that is open for the human there.
Every other tool takes one of these as project, by name or id; with one project you can leave it out.
Work goes only in the project it belongs to. When none fits, do the work anyway and ask the human at the end which project it goes in, or start one with new_project.

After new_project started a second one:

You are on 2 projects; 2 things open for the human, in 1 of them:
- “Pebble” (yours), id e7f94dcb-e308-49d3-a1f4-5e46297dd96a; open for the human: 1 question, 1 request (Q-sbx6 “Which sign-in should Pebble have at launch?”; R-g4va “Make an APNs key for push reminders”)
- “Pebble site” (yours), id 65f4f789-a877-4714-8973-6d0eed11f0a2
In brackets: all that is open for the human there.
Every other tool takes one of these as project, by name or id.
Work goes only in the project it belongs to. When none fits, do the work anyway and ask the human at the end which project it goes in, or start one with new_project.

Which project a call goes to

With several projects, Hamloy never guesses. A call without project is answered with the choice, and a name that matches none says so:

You are on 2 projects, so say which one this is for, as project: “Pebble” or “Pebble site”. When none of them is what this work belongs to, do the work anyway and ask the human at the end which project it goes in, or start one with new_project.
You are on no project called “Pebl”. Give one of these as project: “Pebble” or “Pebble site”.

Someone on no project yet gets the same tools, and every call answers that they can start one with new_project.

In your assistant

Claude shows the call as Your projects; ChatGPT names the tool projects. Asking "What's waiting on me in Hamloy?" is usually answered with this tool first.
