The tool that starts a project

On the account's address, how an agent starts a project of yours with empty lists, for work that belongs to none of your projects yet.

new_project starts a project. Its title is Start a project, and its description, as the agent reads it:

Start a new project of your own, with empty lists, for work that belongs to none of your projects yet, such as a new repo. Name it after that work. The other tools then take it as project.

Like projects, it is there only on the account's address, https://hamloy.com/mcp. See Remote link or API token.

Arguments

Argument Type What the agent is told
name string, required What the project is called, such as the repo's name; 80 characters at most.

What it does

  • It starts a project of yours, with empty lists, as the projects page does. The reply gives its id and its board.
  • The other tools take it as project straight away, by name or id. There is nothing to connect again.
  • It counts toward your plan like any project you make on the board. See Plans and limits.
  • The agents are told to put work only in the project it belongs to. When none fits, they do the work and ask you at the end, or start one with this tool.

Calls and replies

Started “Pebble site”, id 65f4f789-a877-4714-8973-6d0eed11f0a2, with empty lists. Give it as project to the other tools. Its board: https://hamloy.com/p/65f4f789-a877-4714-8973-6d0eed11f0a2/

What it refuses

A name you already have, whatever its capitals, so the name stays enough to pick a project by:

You are already on a project called “pebble site”. Use it as project, or pick another name.

No name:

Give the new project a name, as name.

A plan with no room for another project:

The Free plan holds one project of your own; projects shared with you don't count.

In your assistant

Claude shows the call as Start a project; ChatGPT names the tool new_project. The new project is on your board at once.
